About the eSIM & Roaming Advisor

Going abroad and unsure how to get mobile data without a huge bill? This free tool compares travel eSIMs with your operator's roaming offers for your destination, trip length and expected data use, so you can see the cheapest option before you travel. It runs entirely in your browser and does not store your inputs.

Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming?

Often, but not always. In the EU/EEA you usually pay your normal home rates, so you may not need an eSIM at all. Outside the EU, a travel eSIM is frequently cheaper than your operator's roaming packages, especially for longer trips or heavy data use. The advisor compares both for your destination.

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone. You install it by scanning a QR code, with no physical card. Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked.

Can I keep my normal number with an eSIM?

Yes. Most travel eSIMs add a second, data-only line, so your normal SIM stays active for calls and SMS. Messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Viber keep working over the eSIM data.

How accurate are the prices?

The advisor gives estimates based on published offers and your expected usage. Prices and terms change, so always confirm the final price with the provider before you buy.

Do I need to buy anything for the EU?

Usually not. EU/EEA roaming rules let you use your home plan at no extra charge, subject to your operator's fair-use limits. The advisor tells you when this applies.
